Lots of us do that here I have noticed. It just seemed like the fronts especially werent wearing as well as they should. I know I probably shouldnt, but this came up a few weeks ago and some guys are running upwards of 60 in them... 55 Seems to run just right for me. As far as the door sticker goes, doesnt it say around 65?
i just went to the tire shop and they also recommended the yokahama Geolanders i asked them to get 285s in for me, but now that i think about it i am a little worried about rubbing on tight turns/parking. can any one with a 99 chime in on this?
I'm on my third set of Bridgestone Revo's, best tire I think I've ever had. the last two sets I got 65k plus out (and I never run tread down as low as most people)of them and never had any balancing or uneven wear problems.

You shouldn't have any problem. Lots of people run 285s without rubbing. I had 285s on my old 2000 before I traded it and never had a problem.

Mine is an early 99 and I have been running the 285 geolanders with no problem. More than likely will get them again when the time comes.
Just wanted to update this thread and let everyone know i choose the geolanders, they are great so far. Went through about 5 snow and ice storms. EXCELLENT traction.
I was able to stop and a decent grade and pull other cars up the hill the rest of the way when you could barley stand on the road (it was covered with ice)
I'm glad to hear that you liked the Nittos. Thats what I just put on.
Are the Nittos "D" or "E" rating? I have a 2003 F350 4X4 CC long bed and "D" rating tire just don't hold up or perform well. Never get more than 30K out of them and feel lots of body roll.

I run right at 60psi on mine.
9 years and I had the stock Generals, BFG A/T, Yoko Geolanders, and now Nitto Terra Grapplers....
Averaged about 50K per set. I know for sure the BFGs were a little less than that average though. I dont know how long these Nittos will go. They dont look like they would last as long as my Geolanders. One tire on the set of Generals developed a bubble on the sidewall...
After these Nittos I will probably be goin back to the Geolanders.
