if i were you i would take to a certified welder or at least someone you trust enough to weld that and have it welded back. not sure how much pressure gets put on it, you might want it reinforced.

Please do not post in all caps, it is just like yelling. And it's hard to read. Thank you, Mike.

BROKEN STABILIZER MOUNT

I can't see why they would have to replace the whole axle housing. Take it to a welding shop and have them fix it.

BROKEN STABILIZER MOUNT

I do not do a lot of 4 wheeling myself but my bodys do. I am just wondering if the 4 wheeling you have done is choppy, or has a lot of turns. The reason I say tis is because on my dirt bike if you run a lot of sand, staight lines you can run a stabilizer. If you run a track you can not. When you do choppy quick turns there is a lot of stress on a stabilizer. I would weld it on but when you reinforce, as I have learned from my friends, make sure not to over reinforce in one spot. When you build it up thicker and bulkier are not better. Do not run braces thicker than what you are welding too, and run them as far as possible. Thats my the axle in my quad is 1 1)2 at the carrier and about an inch at the hubs. The taper causes the axle to have as much stress at the anchor point as at the wheel.

thx for the reply. i've had 4x4s for for 12 years (4 all diferent brands)... with stabilizers. i've only had to replace one. when i four wheel it's usually slow and easy so i don't think terrain is my problem. besides the location of the break doesn't receive much stress due to the stabilizer. the break is above the stabilizer. if anything force from the swaybar/tracking bar (whatever it's called) is what would have broken it.
