I"ve got a 2001 PSD CC 4x4 and I'm looking into getting a set of 35x12.5x16.5 super swamper ssr tires. Have any of u had these? If so, what kind of mileage did u get out of them? How often did u rotate and balance them? I don't mind dropping $1200 or so on the set, but I'd like to get 30k or more out of them.
I go offroad mostly during hunts and taking out the quad, also some snow, and I do end up in mud during the rainy season getting back to the favorite fishing hole. I guess that would be a yes-lol. Honestly, I'm looking for something that looks super cool as much as function. I would like something that handles nice on road though. I know u have give in one category to get in another.
i would go with bfg mudterrains than, i think they are the best looking tire out there, if i didnt have 2 wheel drive i would trade my bfg allterrains for a set of those. ive heard you can get about 45,000 out of the muds. they have excellent traction in pretty much everything.
Yeah, I know BFG makes a real good tire. I've have had both ATs and MTs on and off for about 13 years now. I'm just kind of bored with them and would like a different look. I had the old D.C. Fun Countries and they looked great, but were hard to keep in balance. I hear Mickey Thompson bought them and improved the characteristics but they only make them in 38s and taller.
Yes, I've seen the new BFG line. Like I said, I just want something a little different and something that 99% of the lifted trucks are running on. Anyone have info on Swamper SSR's? I appreciate the input.
I had 35x14.50x16.50 SSRs on my 2000 SD. I took them off after 29k miles and they still have a few thousand miles left on them. I rotated every 5k miles. They were great tires. I don't think you'd get 40k out of them. 30k-35k. I'd recommend them though.
For a different look try the new Goodyear MTR, new design,
and they look pretty good as well as function well, i got them
and am very satisfied, and I did some research on them and they are
rated pretty high...
I have a 97 crew cab 4x4 PSD. I had 35x12.5x16.5 swamper SSRs. At about 20000 they were so out of round I replaced them with BFG ATs. The weight of the truck seem to wear them out fast. Rotating did not help either.
