Thank you for taking the time to measure. From where on the truck body did you take the measurement? Perhaps the window or the mirror's mounting base?

I really want to order these mirrors but don't want to fold them in every day to pull in the garage. I pulled our covered snowmobile trailer today (with duct tape holding the broken mirror together) and could have used the extra field of view. I'll call around on Monday to price a replacement for the original, but I bet it will be more than a pair of the towing mirrors.

I think I know where you measured. Mine measure 10" at the same spot. The towing mirrors would add 9" total to the width of my truck, and it wouldn't fit through the garage door without folding both of them in.
