2000 F350 5.4 no start problem

even with a shot of ether it will not fire.
i hooked the scanner up, but with the key on i get no readings, almost like the computer is bad.
anyone have any ideas on where to look??

service engine soon light comes on, not CEL.
i am half deaf, so i never hear the fuel pump.
but i gave it a shot of ether, and it did not fire.

Does the fuel pump prime?

Does your cigar lighter work?
Have you checked fuses F24 and F30 in the under hood box? Steve

well, i got into it a little more today, and i have no fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the passenger side fuel rail. so it looks like either there is no power going to the pump, or the pump took a crap.
