300 dimensions

300 dimensions

What are the dimensions of a 300 I6? How long is the block? How high? How wide? And how about the weight? I found the sizes for V8's but not the I6's.

I wouldn't fully trust those dimensions.

I think the 4.9l/300 is roughly 4 inches longer than the V/8s.

if i read that right, it was saying that hte six was shorter, front to back, than the 8's on the list, and if thats what its saying, it is wrong, as that just ain't the case, the six is a long, narrow, lean, machine

That's what I read to.

My other book has the 4.9 at 24 inches from rear to pulley.

32" from bell mounting to water pump flange.

The numbers on that jeep site also say that a 300 is 28" from the bottom of teh sump to the top of the aircleaner but 32" from sump to the highest point on the intake. It just doesn't add up.

Yeah, I knew the I6 would be longer.... I guess I will have to go to the junk yard with a tape on hand. I would like to eventually put a Carbed 300 w/C4 tranny into my 86 4x4 Ranger that currently has the 2.9/a4ld, is there a special oil pan I would need? And another question I had was about the motor mounts, they are in different locations than the V8 5.0 right? It won't be my daily driver for too much longer, it will be my mud toy.
