Dave ;Stinson 491 here ,I am envious of your new truck ,i have a 1992 F350 xlt w ith 350797.8 miles on it. I think it is probably the best platform for a slide in camper that i have ever had,and i have had a few. I have driven it to Alaska twice, that's 12000 miles round trip times 2, from Chatham Ma., hauling a 1987 Lance 11.5' with 2 -30 lb propane tanks and a generator, not light, but comfortable. it will pass everything but a gas station. I think for the extra cost of a diesel engine you can buy a lot of gasoline, bet i will have lots of opinions about that!!!!!.Enjoy the new wheels. Barry.

Welcome to the MA Chapter...hope you enjoy your stay!!!
Happy Holidays! My name is Rick and I’m new to the forum. I live in Western Mass. My teenage son and I bought a1954 F100 with a Y Block V8 last year and we have been having lots of fun bringing it back to life. I have been following the main 1950s F100 forum for helpful tips and advice. I also own a 2018 F150 Super Crew as my daily driver. I look forward to following this local forum as well.
Thanks,
Rick

I am in South Hadley. I will definitely post some pics soon. We are currently working on rebuilding the bed.
Happy New Year to all, I'm a fairly new member. I live in western MA. so I thought I'd look into the MA chapter. Joined FTE back in September when I bought my 1980 F100. Good site to pick up some information I thought. I restored my interior after I bought it, next plan is to work on the rough starts and idling come spring. It's a straight 6, single barrel with about 118k on the clock. It looked like a nice solid truck, one family owned with a nice old style two tone paint scheme. I'm also helping my brother-in-law, he just dropped off a 1955 F100 panel truck. My son and I are going to try and help him put it together. He purchased it from a young man who inherited it. His father started on the restoration but passed suddenly. Trucks been sitting in California for over 20 years. Needs a lot of help, hoping the forum can guide us along. We're still sorting through the parts and putting a plan together. Just a little cold in the garage right now, looking at some alternative, inexpensive heat sources for a 20' x 40' garage, any tips would be appreciated. Here's some pictures. The white F150 flareside is my son's, we'll be working on that too.
newly finished interior. My son's 94 with a 302 in it.

Don't know how I missed these before...looks way too clean to have spent it's whole life in the rusty northeast.

Nice...thanks for sharing the pictures. Love the tu-tone on the '80. Check out 56panelford....he's restored a '56 panel...a '56 pickup...and...he's now working on a '56 Mercury dually. He's got a few build threads for inspiration.

"...inexpensive heat sources ..."
we use wood in Hatfield, MA. Fire - out over nite, oil - early am, & spring/fall. But mostly wood 40, 50 ft celling, at least - if crammed in floor space could get 40, 60 cars (no thing else) is 3 25 x 25 ft doors 3 lifts and LOTS of extra space (wrkshop, office). Some day I'll hafta measure the footprint.
Fella here just bought a sim yr to yours. I thought it was a 6th gen (my fav of any vehicle '73/9 F250 4WD short box, step side w/1 18 inch race stripes) but they carried that paint scheme a few yrs more. 30K mi on it, went dwn to Long Is to get it out of a heated garage. Looks brandy new (I'm jealous).

Thanks for the tip, we can use all the inspiration we can get. It's going to be tough as we didn't dismantle it and none of the parts are labeled. We're still trying to figure what parts we have or are missing.

We were thinking about a used wood stove or something along that line. It's only 800 sf so I don't think it would be that large so we can tuck it in a corner.
