OK folks...were the newest FTE Chapter...let's introduce ourselves to each other...and the rest of FTE!!!
How about posting your first name...where you live...what you do for a living...and anything else you care to share.
I'll start it off!!!
Believe it or not my name is...drumroll please...Ken. I live in the great state of Western Massachusetts in the city of Greenfield.
For those of you who don't already know...I'm a purveyor of fine new and previously enjoyed cars and trucks. I know...I know...try not to hold it against me!!!
My name is Bill and I'm located in the Worcester area. I am currently both a corporate trainer (high-tech industry) and the mostly absentee owner of an aftermarket truck/SUV/automotive aftermarket accessories retail store. Due to the corporate job, I only work in the store on Saturdays. My wife runs it the rest of the week.
i have been working in in FORD parts for over 6 years, at various dealerships. i live in lunenburg, which is about 18 miles north of worcester, but the dealership i work at is in acton. i have an 03 expedition(for sale currently) that i occasionally drive. it is used mainly for long distance trips....40k miles in 2 years. my daily driver is a black 1999 crown vic police interceptor.
You can call me Ray, you can call me Ajay, but you don't have to call me . . .
Hello I'm Dave, and I keep my name in my signature so I don't forget
I've been a resident of Connecticut all my life, though the nuclear Navy had me on both coasts, and my aviation work took me as far as Alaska.
I've been living in Stratford, CT since 2002.
Should I move out of town you'll notice that my Stats (Public Profile) will change.
Currently I'm back to work in the electrical power generation industry.
To be more specific, I'm a plant operator at a combustion turbine peaking station.
(Combustion turbine as in jet-engine versus a steam turbine.)
(Peaking versus base-loaded. We only run for a few hours when called upon to 'save the day' as when the electrical grid is on the verge of a brown-out or black-out.)
My first civilian career started out as a plant equipment operator at a commercial nuclear power station. I was down-sized out of the utility 19¾ years later due to industry deregulation.
My retraining as an FAA certificated aircraft mechanic and combined experiences lead to my current job, which has been my post-nuclear employment goal.
Besides the two Ford's in my signature, I previously owned:
A Ford Ranger which was 'new' after two model years.
It's first year was on the lot unsold, and for its second year it languished in dealership bankruptcy proceedings.
A Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor, again 'new' with only 12 miles on it.
It was ordered in for the Chief of a local police department.
When it arrived the town was questioning the order placement in the first place.
I had a deposit down on it before the town got their act together.
