I just got this 05 250 SD FX4 the other day. The dealer told me the keypad code is 57571 but when I press it nothing happens. I called him up and he said unhook the battery for a few minutes and try it again. Anyone run across this one? I looked through the searches but nothing came up on this kind of issue.
EDITED TO ADD THAT I LOOKED IN THE DASH FOR THE CODE AND IT'S DIFFERENT THAN WHAT THE DEALER TOLD ME. I ENTERED IT AND THE KEYPAD WORKS.

Reason: UPDATE
I'm not sure if you still have a question. Obviously the dealer was wrong, but you found the original code so you know the keypad works. Write that number down in a safe place so you will always have it. That code will never change, but you can add more codes of your own choosing. Something that will be easy for you to remember. But the original code will still be there. Check an owners manual for instructions on programming new codes.
As I understand it, the code will be on the security module under the dash. But it will be under an insulation blanket so you might need to poke around under there. Some guys say they pull the trash back hook panel out and look through there, then pull the insulation back. It should be 5 digits, and they might be upside down.
I had the dealer pull mine from the computer, so the above is just my memory from reading here on the forum. If you try a search here you will find more info. Just remember to look for info on a truck like yours.
might be a dumb question but can a keypad be added after market..my truck didnt even have keyless entry...i added that with a remote start but always wanted the keypad..no keys in pocket during the summer priceless
If you have factory keyless entry, Ford offered a stick-on key pad that was basically just a remote that required a pass code, and also required a watch battery. But for an aftermarket keyless, I would not expect that to work. Whoever made your aftermarket system might offer something.

You can add a keypad that works with the standard keyless entry but if your truck didn't come with that then you might be out of luck. ford keypad, eBay Motors items on eBay.com=
