Cold weather sticky

What do you guys think about asking the moderators for a sticky that includes common cold weather related issues. Of course it could be removed in the spring. Im thinking things to include could be:

1. That wooshing sound at start up when its cold outside is the EBPV and is normal.
2. The wait to start light tuns off before the glow plug realy does. Wait a while after the light goes off.
3. Glow plug part numbers is ZD9 use only the motorcraft ones made by Beru.
4. Glow plug relay part numbers are.....
5. The engine block heater cord is located up under the battery tray on the drivers side. It enters the block right above the oil filter. It was an option in ?97?
6. Whatever anyone else would like to add......

ZD9's are for an IDI

ZD11's are for a PSD

We don't need no stinking stickies...we've got a search feature and if you can't find what you need through there then just ask and somebody will be glad to help out....

My bad. Thats why i didnt post GPR #'s . I figured I would get it wrong. It seems we get a lot of these questions asked when the weather starts to get colder. New people may not know about the search feature, and I for one dont like it. I can never find what im looking for. It was just an idea I figured I would bounce off you guys, and please if any of my info is incorrect feel free to correct it.

I don't believe the moderators do stickies much anymore. I recently saw a post explaining their thoughts on the sticky issue. I also agree with Rodney, Stickies don't promote interaction between members.

I just started to read the link and realized a big advantage to the sticky's.

The information in the sticky should be verified info. even if corrected and edited. Sometimes I have noticed that some of the answers provided in real time are not always as correct as they could be and this could be a big problem for some, to have to sort out info. to get the best answer. I do really like this site and have been reading and collecting info. since I got my first PSD a little over 2 years ago.

Just my thoughts

This is exactly why I threw this out here....to get yalls opinions. I see the point of stickies not promoting member interaction. I also see the point of incorrect info. Much like I already posted the incorrect GP#. It does take the correct key word to find things in a search, as tim noted above. Even then how is someone to know if the info they found is correct. Sticky or no sticky it does not matter to me. It was just a passing thought.

I guess bringing to old thread back was probably the best thing to do.

had to rescue a 6.0 owner at work today.... left the truck at work yesterday cause it wouldnt start, was going to leave it again tonight for same reasons until someone told him to come find me...lol. they came in and told me the truck wont start. i asked them why. they said its out of fuel....lmao. i asked if it died the other night or not and he said no he turned it off..... so i told him its not out of fuel then.... told him let the key on even after the wait lamp goes out before attempting to start....got told thats not the problem. So i walked outside and he turned the key on and waited about 15 seconds after the light went out and hit the key..... 3rd revolution it fired right up........
