I did some research and am leaning towards the HID's. I called SilverStar and they don't have the "ultra" for my application. I know the HID's cost more but I have trouble seeing at night so I'm thinking the extra light will help.
I want to do the headlights and the fog lights. I think it will look funky with just the headlights. Now with fuel going down we decided to take a trip up to Mass. at Christmas time. So I will be putting a lot of miles on the Ex in the next few months.
Oh I must chime in on this topic. It's been 4+ years since i went with HID lights and there is no going back, as for cut off or whatever, if you adjust your headlights correctly, you will not have to worry about drivers flashing you. As for the Silverstar, they are "CRAP" and waste of money, if your going to spend the money, you might as well go with HID lights, very easy to install and last as long or even longer than regular headlights.
Until you've tried them, DON'T KNOCK THEM!! we all have our reasons why we do things, we all have our reasons why we drive a truck that everyone else hates, but we drive them anyways, please this site is here to help all X owners, not to call them out, especially without your own proof as to otherwise,
I fabricated in range rover projectors and the high beam is actually created using a shield that moves out of the way using a solenoid. here they are. i am in the process of making another set using acura tl projectors. the acura projectors are the best lights made to date..
oh, notice the new billit tow hooks?? i also just got a 3" cowl hood yesterday... looks awesome..i'll get pics.
Holy niceness. Those projectors look sweet as hell. I have a set of Infinti HID Projectors, I think I am going to try out. I got them for 100.00 brand new in the box, I was told they were almost 800.00 for the set.
are they bi-xenon? if so, they would work. some projectors are bigger than others. do you have the bulbs, ballasts, and ignitors with the projectors? oh, thanks for the comment.
IDK, if they are bi-xenon, but yes I do have the ballast bulbs and ignitors. Still in the Infiniti box, mypaint and body guy sold them to me, he was suppose to put them in on a front end impact on a G35, charged the insurance company, purcashed them and then realized the ones that were supposedly damaged were not damaged at all, just the housing was damaged.
all you have to do to check is look at the projector and see if it has a solonoid with either a plug or 2 little wires on it and it will move the shield that is in the middle of the projector. that is what gives you the HIGH BEAM function. no REAL factory hid will change brightness to give the high beams. it will only move the shield out of the way or have a seperate high beam light. go to www.hidplanet.com they have more that enough info on how to do a retrofit project and more info than you can imagine on hid lighting.
