Passenger side window squealing

Hello yall. The front passenger side window on my Expedition has been squealing horridly for the past 3 months now when i roll it down. It doesn't seem to do it when it rolls up. I think it's that weather seal rubbing against the window but I'm not absolutely sure. Any easy fixes without having to tear a bunch of crap up?

The rubber strip won't cause a squealing noise. You probably have to pull of the door panel off and lubricate the window tracks.

It takes about 6 minutes to pull off the door panel, it's not really a big deal.

Check your seal that the window slides through. Sometimes you can get sand/dirt stuck in this that can cause a squealing sound as the glass slide through it. I've had this happen to me a time or two. With the window all the way down, run your fingers along this seal to clean any sand/dirt that may be in the seal out of it.

I know it's pretty easy, and I need to do it to that door to check my speaker anyways. But I have 0 tools here on the oncampus apartment, and will have to wait to get home, which probably won't be to till the 17th of December.

I'll give that a try when I have some time to look at the truck, probably won't be till Saturday afternoon.

My driver side window does the same thing when its a little cold outside. I too figured that it was the seal. Seams like its a little stiffer when its cold and squeals against the window. Does anyone know if there is a conditioner or something for the rubber seal, to keep it soft?

Ok I checked it out and it is indeed the seal causing it. The outside seal is dryer, and as the window rolls down, about half way (bulging area of the glass) it catches the seal and rubs down it for about 2in before the glass moves away again. This is causing the squeal. So looking around seems that dry lube is the way to go. Spraying it on the seal, working the window up and down some, letting it dry, then cleaning off the window. Seem good?

Yeah this might work as a temporary fix, but what ever you use could cause the rubber to dry out even worse, depending on the chemicals that are in it.
