Push button shifter?

The shifting in my '96 sucks. The second to third shift many times waits an impossible long time. I'm sure it's the computerized shift not just a delay of the actual shift.

Has anyone invented a shift control box so a guy could choose his own shift points. I know go get a stick but I have a bad left knee and need the auto, or at least something clutchless

There are a couple companies that make stand alone controllers for the E4OD. Baumann Engineering and PCS are two that I've heard of. I've never used either so I can't recommend them. I'm just telling you what I've seen around the 'net.

MADVAN built paddle shifter for his but its one off. A shift kit might help but its not going to change the actual shift points. My recommendation would be to get a chip that is burn with stock power if that where you want to keep it and have TW give you his shift programming. Maybe even a reflash of your PCM to TDE1 programming if its not already done. I would guess you have a NAW4-6 programming and its transmission stuff stinks!

I have seen Coons valve body mod and like it for taking the mush out of the shift. It's the shift points that suck. Tw is probably the way I will go. How do I reflash it for the TDE1 program?

It's ok only if I baby it and take a mile to get up to 60mph but anything faster and I'm bouncing in the seat wanting it to shift. Many times I run the throttle like a stick shift. Power on up to speed, back off, shift, power on again ect..

For a reflash the dealer can do it or you can send your PCM to Dp tuner and they can do it.
