Is this the correct fuel sending unit for my front tank? It always reads empty and I just ran it dry yesterday. Is the float the item just above the green arrow on the right side of the picture?
That looks right to me. FYI, before buying a new one, take a look at your old one. They are very simple devices and often the problem is repairable, and free. On my truck, I had a sending unit where the solder had a crack in it. A quick dab with the soldering iron and it was all good. Also check that the ground for your sending unit is okay. I've also seen where the wire that runs to the sending unit pulls out of the housing. Again its a simple solder repair. Good luck.
My gas gauge works sometimes and not other times so i am never sure how much fuel I really have. I have dual tanks and the problem is with my front tank. How hard is it to get to the float and the sending unit? Do I have to drop the tank?
