Brake Problem

I recently picked up a 95 F250 4x4 w/351 after my 89 got crushed by a tree.

Anyway, I was driving it and the brakes had a weird behavior. When I stepped on the brakes, the pedal went down and stayed down by itself even when I let off. If I tapped them or gave the pedal a slight pull back they would release without a problem. It almost seems like an issue with the booster.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or heard of anything like this?

Thanks!!
Dave

Luckily enough I`ve never had that problem, however it does sound like a defective booster. But get a second opinion.

Any throughts on this problem? Or thoughts on how to troubleshoot rather than just start replacing things?

Yes sounds like the booster. With the engine running but vehicle parked press the brake and if it stays down pull the vacuum line off the booster, if the pedal returns you found your problem.

Other points to check after he above check would be the pivot points for the pedal and rod that goes into the master.
