I have a 98 Expedition with a 5.4 in it. I believe it has an E40D Tranny in it, but i am not sure, its 4x4. Turns out the truck has 145K miles on it and my mom bought it new back in 97. It seems some times when getting on the highway or starting to go up a incline at highway speeds, the tranny slips. The motor will just rev for a second or two and then it will catch and drop down almost immediately. Also it seems like it is taking longer for it to shift, as the RPM are climbing higher. I was wondering if this sounds like something silly, or do I need to rebuild the tranny?
Also the truck has a factory towing package on it. I was wondering if it has a tranny cooler already. As this is the truck that will be towing my race car to and from the track, and possibly across country a few times.
