steering stabilizer

Looking to get a new steering stabilizer for my truck. Running all stock suspention. Is a dual set-up worth the extra money for stock tires and suspention?
thanks!

Not really. The reason to go to duals should be to spread the heat generated from the steering oscillation being dampened. A good replacement single will be all that you need. I had found a zinc bilstein that I have been really happy with, I am running a single with 35" Toyo's.

Ax, does Bilstein have a steering stabilizer available now?

Back when I added mine, Pro Comp was the most cost effective choice, hands down, but I like Bilstein shocks so I'd be amenable to spring for the coin on a Bilstein stabilizer.

I replaced mine with a single Rancho this spring. I August found out the seals were blown out of the stabilizer. With Rancho's lifetime warranty, just took it along with my receipt to local dealer and got a replacement, no charge! Other than that have been very satisfied with the Rancho shocks and stabilizer.

I used a shock off a Volkswagen, it has no pressure and near 50/50 valving. It spec'd out near perfectly for my truck.

I thought about it when I changed mine out this summer. I prefer the look of the dual setup, but couldn't justify the expense, and went with single rancho. With the stock set up single is more than adequate, and I'm happy with mine. Good luck either way you go.

Here's the thread with my research https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...abilizers.html

I looked up that PN and It's showing a truck. I must have looked at VW for another project right around that time.

I noticed my stablizer is crunched in from the previous owner. Could this be causing any problems? I plan on changing out my shocks (bilstien) next week should I just do the stablizer at the same time? Any brands better than others? Thanks

Mine too was damaged by the previous owner and was leaking. I bought a new Monroe at Advance Auto Parts for about 30 bucks. It took less than 10 minutes to change it and it's been working great.

Look here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...er-on-2wd.html

I need one myself, especially with 35s on.

I've noticed my steering feels very loose when going over expension joints in a sweeping highway ramp near my work. Steering wheel used to stay dead stable across these joints, now it shakes back and forth a lot. Seems I'm in the market for a new one as well.

If one was willing to spend some more $, what would be a higher quality option?

Mine does the same thing, I feel so unsafe at times driving down the freeway. I think I am gonna get one today. I just got back from driving a few freeways and whoa it was all over on the bumps. Ive tightened the steering box and I know its not that. I am also going to order the helwig this week.
