Just for fair warning stage 2's will require supporting mods to run effectively. You can run them on stock parts (turbo, hpop, trans) but don't expect the turbo and trans to last long and you will get a CEL alot possibly even with a 17* pump.
Gauges are a must. And I would say if you are going to do any towing you need a DP pr TW chip with a mild tow tune. IC or not with a stock turbo your temps will be pretty high.
dp programmer? i'm thinkin about 1's because i like my tranny being functional. lol i want some smoke and more power without tearin the truck to pieces

Stage 1's will still tear up the transmission and push the turbo.
son of a b***h. lol wat would you recommend to keep my tranny livin. i want to do c00n's mod for shiftin. i got 188*** on it and she dont slip thats why im concerned. had a different break in. when dad got the truck brand new he hooked to our 40' travel trailer and went up 95 at 75mph passin dodges and chevy's goin to maine. idk if that has somethin to do with life span but i dont wanna tear up a nice tranny
How long could a rebuilt stock trans with only 20k grandpa miles last on stage 1's and a chip? It would normally be at stock to a lil above stock horsepower, with the occasional high horse launch. I just need it to last for at least 75k-100k, and the factory one lasted 175k. Trucks at 200k right now with just the average breathing mods and a 15.6k mod.
just put my two in last night, from rosewood, and all I can say is HOLY *****! it will spool the turbo from 1-2 PSI to 35 PSI in like a little less then a second now. and granted the road was wet but I broke the tires loose at seventy last night.. rosewood diesel is the ****!
I was running stage II's with the 10 K and it would put out the smoke. Every gear you'd see a puff on moderate excelleration. The truck is intercooled... temps were never a problem.
Ya, if you're going for twos, save for a built tranny...
with ones... you'd probably need it as well, but you might be able to prolong it for a little while.
If you can drive like a grandma, you may be able to make it last longer.
one thing i dislike about transmissions- slushboxes especially, is there isnt ever a "yes" or "no" answer about tranny life... only examples that range...
