What was the ambient temp outside today and how long did you drive your truck?

The gauges are in.... The AFE stage 1 intake and the DP-tuner got delayed until tomorrow. I was planning on watching the trans temps and pyro close.... I never have had this truck pulling this heavy ( well maybe once many years ago).

1 big question right now... on a stock PCM with stock turbo.... how much boost should I be seeing at various rpm's? I fired it up.... revved it a bit in the driveway.... no boost. I think whiskey tango foxtrot, did I t into the wrong friggin hose? I looked it over, even teased the gauge with a rubber tipped blow gun to make sure it worked. Took it for a short drive and was able to get 15 PSI on WOT.

If it's really cold, it takes a while to warm up. If you have the stock gauge, pay no attention to it. It goes to normal after a few minutes, and the "normal" range is like 50-240* (don't quote me on that, but it's close).

Cant build boost in the driveway, gotta be out on the road.
15PSI is about all the stock tunes will get you. tomorrow with the DP you will see above 20PSI, and unless you have a Overboost annhilator(map fooler) you will set the SES light. You can make one from a compressor regulator, and set it to only flow about 18 to 20PSI to the MAP sensor. the truck will start to defuel if the computer sees 22-24PSI of boost.

FWIW, the SES light comes on at 22-23, and defuels at 25. With the mods below, I can easily get over 25, but by all accounts, 25psi is all you want with the stock turbo.

Oh, and the ITP OBA is set to 21 or 22 psi.

Jody mentioned this phenomenon when I talked to him when placing the order.... I ordered the no codes tunes becuase it was my understanding he " took out" the section that sets the code to defuel.... if not the overboost regulator sounds easy enough. I think I can even scam a regulator easy.... I know the 4 inch exhaust has a nice whistle compared to stock exhaust.

congrats on the gauges ! Hows the trans reading ? ambient temp today was about 50 degrees when I left work. I drove for about 10 minutes before the gauge even got above 100 degrees. Remember, when the weather is cooler, PLUS the trans has a cooler, and no load it may be a bit before the temp comes up.
