Started yesterday, finished today. I had never drilled and tapped anything until I found myself underneath my truck drilling into my exhaust manifold! Drilled the hole about 6 times with progressively larger bits, then vacuumed the hole just in case. Boost gauge is mechanical so I ran it to the AIH with the RiffRaff ported delete plug. I had to splice in a couple extra feet of wire for the trans gauge to reach to the test port. Also had to add length to the power, ground and illumination wires. Evidently these are made to install in the pillar. These are the Autometer Ford Factory Match from RiffRaff. Really happy with how they turned out. I guess I did everything right because they actually work!
I finished up the AutoMeter gauges in one of my trucks last week. I used the center housing on top of the dash above the radio. I was undecided between this gauge location and the one you used. I think I'll go with overhead gauges later this year in my other truck. Yours looks great.
Good job, especially on taking the leap. I know how mentally and emotionally challenging it can be to start cutting into your truck. I can't believe how far my comfort level with wrenching on my truck has come in the past few years.
