Boost Gauge

Boost Gauge
I just bought a boost gauge and am wondering the best way to install on a 91 idi with factory turbo really want to avoid drilling anything......

Well, If there isn't already a hole drilled and tapped into the pressure housing, you got to do one. Nothing to be scared of, just tap into the pressure housing and run air line from housing to gauge. David S. has a pic of his.
BTW: What type/brand of gauge is it? Is it a lit gauge?

sunpro gauge can't remember 100% just kind grabbed inexpensive...lol

The black line going into the pressure housing is the boost line.

Thanks i was just concerned about metal shavings....lol i worry a lot

I would be too - don't let any get into the intake. I would remove the pressure housing when you drill and tap the hole.

Just to clarify.... is the '91' a typo? I thought the idi's were only turbocharged from the factory in 94...
Definitely remove the part first..... to much at risk otherwise!

He cold have put on a 093 ATS turbo (which is a factory turbo for the most part).

stock turbo has a very nice plugged port on top intake

or if he doesnt wana drill he can splice (T) into the line that goes to the wastegate
