Just want to double check before I place my order:
V code springs with B code overload added: 9/16 x 3 x 11 semi rounded

Modded B Code: HUSKY SPRING Part # UA207R which is "4WD; w/ Helper Springs; 5/8" X 3 5/8" X 13 1/2" Round Bend; w/ Deep Nuts & Thick Hardened Washers; For Rear Spring"

Is that right?

A Husky spring is an aftermarket spring, not a Ford spring, so it's not a B code spring.

Any of the coded springs (V code, X code, B code, C code etc) are Ford designated codes for their springs, and are not applicable to any aftermarket spring.

If you don't want to buy from Ford, you'll have to compare a springs capacity to the proper Ford spring you choose, in order to get something close to what we here on the boards post about when we discuss spring suspension modifications.

Ah, I understand now. Your post above (post #92) is actually asking about U-bolts! No wonder it didn't quite make sense to me. I kept trying to read it as a question about springs.

Do this man a favor. PLEASE be specific when asking questions. I read soooooo many posts and threads in one day sometimes my brain doesn't properly discern what a User is talking about when the main subject (in this case U-bolts) isn't included in the post.

Sorry CC, I was hoping someone else who was better versed in U-bolts would chime in because I re-used mine for the front, and got a set of old take-offs for the rear.

If I were you, I'd just measure the ones you have now, then add several inches to the length and you should be golden.

I'll measure mine if no one else has specs. I have 4" blocks so we could deduct accordingly...

Question Help the new guy?!

Sorry if this is a repeated question, I'm obviously new here. I just bought a 2004 Ex that is lifted with what appears to be non-stock leaf springs in the front (they have some 4x4 shop markings on them, otherwise I know nothing about them other than they curve up a bunch to lift the front end) and a 5.5 inch block under the stock springs in the rear. It had some oversized tires which I am taking off this weekend. I'm not really interested in the lift for it's looks. I need this rig to be as economical as possible yet still able to pull a trailer that we are hoping to get within the year. I was thinking about lowering the truck back down to stock height so that got me looking into the threads regarding springs and suspension.
Based on what I read I was thinking about doing V springs in the front and the B springs in the rear. So HERE's my question? What is gained in the modified B spring pack versus just putting the B springs on by themselves (unmodified)?
Again sorry if I missed this question in a thread somewhere.

The V springs will raise the front.

The B springs will raise the rear less.

To fix the relatively lower rear you have 2 options:

1) Do the B "mod"

2) Use a taller tapered block.

B "mod"

Less expensive (but slightly more work)
Raises spring capacity (and I assume stiffness)
Note that unmodded b springs are at axle capacity as far a I know.

Tapered block

More expensive (~$125)
No increase in spring capacity [edit] no increase over unmodded B [/edit]
More droop with a load (like a trailer).
Less stiff than B "mod" (I assume)

Thanks!! I was wondering if the primary gain was in equalizing the height front to back.

Congrats on the new vehicle. Be sure to have the gear ratio checked. With the lift and larger tires the previous owner could have changed gears in the f&r diffs to offset the larger diameter.

Don't swap everything and then find out you are over revving to go 60 mph on stock tires
