No, the cross member in front of the oil pan. I see the backside of a weld.
Hey Snow, I don't see a weld but I see a lot of undercoating drip...
Is it the little bubbles, you're referring too? Where the rust meets undercoating?
Put on the Hellwig rear sway bar last night. As has been said many times, great product, terrible instructions. Only took it for a short drive at highway speed, and the difference was immediately noticeable. Just getting on the cloverleaf to get onto the highway was a much different experience. It does seem now that the rear is stiffer than the front (with regard to roll). I'll be putting the front bar on tonight (hopefully). I'll post back to share the results.
If your X is a 2000 and you have not changed the "rubber" on the front sway bar that might be why the front seems soft. No need to get a new sway bar. I am going to be replacing mine shortly with Energy Suspension Bushings. Spoke with them today to make sure I was ordering the correct product. Maxwell said that I needed to order:
Front sway bar bushing kit #4.5180G
End link bushing kit (complete kit) #4.5186G
The sway bar bushing that come with the 4.5186G fits a F250 so, that is why you need to order the separate sway bar bushing kit.

Thats what I am seeing, didn't think undercoating.
Well, after adding the front bar, I would say it did make a difference. The Hellwig bar is slightly larger in diameter than stock. Is it better than just adding urethane bushings? Probably not much. I agree that the factory bar is a VERY solid piece and probably doesn't need to be replaced. I happened to get a pretty good deal on the Hellwig so I went for it. The rear sway bar is an absolute must-have item. Rather than replacing the front bar, upgrading the bushings on the front would probably yield nearly the same results.

Stewart, can you please edit my posts within this thread. I have added new pictures of my Ex with a new slide show link for the Mods. The link above is a direct link. If it's worth the troubles could you replace the dead picture links with this link. I couldn't edit each post myself. Thanks.
