Can't you also get captain's chairs in the rear for the KR and not on the Lariat? Don't know if it's an option for KR or not, but all the KR I looked at had them. I needed a rear bench, so I went with the Lariat. Not sure you can get rear captain's on the Lariat.

Last I was aware they took away the option for captains chairs in the rear in the KR... I've never seen a Lariat with captains chairs in the rear out of the factory though
I have owned both and if given another opportunity, I would avoid the KR. Sure the KR has a beautiful leather package, but your money would be better spent on the Lariat. I was more concerned about the interior that I got to the point it just wasn't worth it.
Now, if Ford put seats in that are half as comfortable and flexible as my Edge, then maybe they would be on to something. I am thinking of upgrading my F350 seats to a set of folding chairs I found at Walmart. Hmmm.
I do not think you can buy a King Ranch without it first being a Lariat. You can check the specs. But once you own a KR, and take some trips, your Edge is woefully lacking, and honestly, I do not know what an EDGE is, but, my wife's Rx 400 h is not near as comfortable as my 2008 KR, and that comparison is to a LEXUS.

Quad Captains continue to be an option in both the King Ranch & Harley-Davidson trims through the 2009 model year. Time will tell if they get carried into 2010 models.
Conversely, the Lariat has never had a Quad Captains option.

Each successive trim level is built on the previous trim level. So an XLT has the XL's options plus some of its own. King Ranch & Harley-Davidson are Lariats that have some additional refinements.
And an Edge is a Ford crossover SUV.

Yes you are 100% right. Both my 05 and 08 F350 KR are Lariats. The KR is a option only available with the Lariat package. All King Ranches are Lariats. Also in 05 and 08 the only way to get the rear buckets was to buy a KR or HD edition LARIAT. These are top of the line options only available on the top of the line Lariat. You can see through the leather in a lowly lariat, but the KING RANCH is rich and thick saddle leather and the color is more natural and doesn't look like it was painted on. My wife loves the KR leather and was going to get her last Expy with the KR option only to find out stupid ford didn't offer it with the cooled seats witch she always get on her eddie bauer edition expys, so she just got another EB expy with the heated and cooled seats.
The KR is a package (17k) on an existing trim line, where as XL, XLT, LARIAT are not option packages but trim lines (I forget the designation, but it used to be something like 701a or something and don't know where to look it up).
Does anyone know what the difference is b/n the Lariat and the King Ranch? I purchased a Lariat and was wondering what I may be missing/getting if I had of gone with the King Ranch.
What I remember the most is that you couldn't order a manual shift transfer case with a King Ranch. Or so I was told at the time I ordered my 05. I liked the seats but the rest of the package I didn't really care for myself. No offense anyone. They are a beautiful rig.
RMOSSO1,
The edge is Ford's little crossover. I was being facetious. Don't get me wrong, I love my sixth f250/350 in ten years, but the seats suck. Maybe I expect too much. Maybe I need to keep in mind it is still a truck. But as more and more of us use them as daily drivers and roadtrip vehicles, the seats could use a once over. And let me tell you, as a disabled veteran, comfort is a must.
The Edge on the other hand, has seats that grip your body, warm up quickly and effectively, and after a recent trip from Mississippi to Jacksonville Fl., the seats never leave me feeling spent.
But, I am getting off track. Bottom line is, I hope PONYBOY123 has made up his mind and is no longer waiting for us to finish beating this horse. Especially since the original thread was posted last year.

Don't get me wrong, but its obvious you dont have the nice heated leather, fully adjustable, better than a lazy boy captains chairs. The comfyest chair I own is in my truck, and since i picked it up in 07 I have never heard anyhting bad about these seats. In fact my buddy offered me $50 for one so he could use it to watch TV... he was a chevy guy also
I know you said you've had them... but is it possible you had a bunk seat? My GF drives a lincoln MKX ( i think thats what it is.. the lincoln version of an edge) and those seats suck ***** compared to my lariat seats. My *** hangs out both sides and the pathetic excuse for a side bolster jams my kidneys and the lower lumbar hurts my back. Is it possible ur too little for such a big seat?
