What's wrong with the King Ranch leather?
I have been searching around on the internet trying to find another crew cab F250 or F350 SRW, from 2006 through 2010. Came across a lot of King Ranch models but a bunch of them had what I thought was dried out leather with horrible looking black splotches. Looks like the seats had been sitting out in the sun all day for months. I know you have to maintain the leather seats but is there a special treatment for the King Ranch that is different from the regular leather in the Lariat models? Some of the King Ranch models I saw did have a good treatment on them because they looked like new. Can the dried out King Ranch leather be restored to like-new condition?

Leather and King Ranch
Yes it must be cared for.
The leather is a open pour leather and you must keep it clean and provide conditioner to it. Its REAL sadel leather.
What person wants that in a work truck???? I have it and it is a PAIN to keep up.
I use connolly leather conditioner once a month and so far so good.

Lariet leather is a sealed or protected leather so it does not require the same up keep. You also don't have to worry so much about spilling on the lariet leather like you do with the KR leather. My wifes, new to us, Expy is a KR. Seats looked pretty rough when we first got it. Dark in color, almost black and stained and looking very dry. I learned how to do a "spa treatment" on them. Got alot of the dirt out of them and moisture back into them. Conditioned them once a week for a couple of months. They look a lot better now. Now I still am conditioning them about once every 2 to 3 weeks. I figure I will be able to space the conditioning out to 4 times a year. Found a lot of good info at another forum. Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans. They have a whole area on KR leather.

King Ranch leather just needs alittle more loving than other leather products. Now it can be ugly for sure, if its not taken care of regularly. I used the Leatherique product that is specially made for King Ranch seats. As long as you condition it a few times a year and clean it when something has spilled on it, I feel its just as easy as other leather seats.

I have it .. I am not in love with it but it's ok ,, the 08 stuff is to red for my taste
it is real saddle leather and the front seats usually get lighter faster because of the sun.
I jump in mine all the time soaking wet at the boat ramps and water has no ill effect like you would think //but they do get hot like any vinyl leather
