My 02 f-350 crew cab dually 7.3 diesel door open light stays on and remote door opener will not work. Disconnect batteries for five minutes and then light goes out and door opener works. Leave any light or door open for a few minutes and you have the same problem again.

Spray some lube into all of the door latches, and work it in a few times each. It should go away. Mine did the same thing, and that fixed it almost two years ago...

 

Spray the latches in the door with wd-40 and open and close it many times. This should take care of the switch sticking. I'll look for the remote programming for you.

 

Jim, the remote isn't working because it thinks the door is open. Lube the latches, the door lock thing will be fixed too.

How to reprogram your remote entry transmitters
You must have all remote entry transmitters (maximum of four)
available before beginning this procedure.
To reprogram the remote entry
transmitters:
1. Ensure the vehicle is
electronically unlocked.
2. Put the key in the ignition.
3. Turn the key from the 2 (LOCK)
position to 3 (OFF).
4. Cycle, eight times, rapidly (within
10 seconds) between the 3 (OFF)
position and 4 (ON). Note: The
eighth turn must end in the 4 (ON) position.
5. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming
mode has been activated.
6. Within 20 seconds press any button on the remote entry transmitter.
Note: If more than 20 seconds have passed you will need to start the
procedure over again.
7. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that this remote entry
transmitter has been programmed.
8. Repeat Step 6 to program each additional remote entry transmitter.
9. Turn the ignition to the 3 (OFF) position after you have finished
programming all of the remote entry transmitters.
10. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming
mode has been exited.

 

Your right Joe. I'm out in left field tonight. To many paint fumes in the garage. Just painted my cold air box and IC pipes.

It came out pretty good. I'll post pics tommorow after I get it installed. The only pics I have are with it on the bench. I painted it a metallic blue. The damn paint kept clogging the tips.
