Smile HELLO

Hello all. i am Kris. I have a 97 f150 4x4 4.2l V6. I perform all maintenance myself just by using these forums. I am not a mechanic so will likely ask alot of questions when anything new happens to my truck. So thanks in advance.

Talking Just bought the Ford...again.

Oh-lah from San Diego!
Okay, long story short - my first truck was a '76 F-100 that I bought from my mom after working hardcore at my first job during high school. I loved the hell outta that truck but sold it when I joined the service .
Outta the service, got a degree and a job, sold the soccer-mom Subaru for a 1974 F-100 4x4!! It's a bit of a mess (leaks like a Harley) but she runs.

I have been lurking on the site for about a week now as my guy and I have been tearing the ol' girl apart. He does mechanical stuff; I do electrical stuff.

I was looking for hints and tricks on those damn boots that go in the firewall on the wiring harness. GRRRR!

Anyway - Cheers!!

Just Coming on Board

Ordered a 2017 F-350 Diesel today, so just getting on board to learn what I can while the truck gets built. Drove a 2016 and really loved it.

Have a 2003 GMC 1/2 ton that has been a great truck (no trolling intended, just what I have). I plan to retire at the end of 2017 and the wife wants to get back to trailering after a 20-year hiatus to raise children, so I need a more capable truck.

Never had a diesel before, so I have a lot to learn. Will be my daily driver.

2011 F250 6.7

I've been on the forum once before but was not active. I guess that still makes me a new guy.

2011 F250 Lariat. 6.7 PowerStroke. FX4 Crew Cab Short Bed. Currently has just under 90k miles on it. This truck is my daily driver. I also use it for towing my 5th wheel camper and for responding to fire calls (volunteer firefighter). Stock power train with a few useful accessories: Aries bull bar and Hella lights, Viair onboard air compressor, Load Lifter 5000 Ultimate air bags on rear for leveling while towing. I've also changed the brake pads to EBC yellow stuff - BIG difference in stopping power with stock rotors.

No real issues with my truck. Some gizmo was reprogrammed under warranty, DEF pump/sensor replaced, and right front brake caliper stuck. All repaired under warranty and harmless, although the caliper was "interesting"!

I look forward to tips and tricks as the mileage increases. Love my Super Duty. Sorry but no pics available on this computer. I may be able to load some later.

Tom

Hey guys, I'm Eric.

My dad bought his 72 brand new and has had it since, it's in pretty rough shape and I've always wanted to get it fixed up. Been thinking about it a bit more lately and started looking for a frame. Found the forum looking for compatibility with other years and thought it may be good to join up to make the search easier. No pictures right now, but I'll try to get some soon.

I also wanted to mention that the link in the welcome email is invalid, it includes an extra ) at the end which isn't a valid link so it goes nowhere. May want to edit that!

Hello. I love the 70's F100's. I know more about the 73-79 years, but I'm pretty sure they're on the same frame. Good luck in your search. Start a thread and show us your progress!
