Hello all, I might end up getting the lurker award after being signed up here for 10 years without posting. But I recently acquired a 2006 F-250 SC SB 4x4 V-10 with 33,000 miles and figured this would be as good a place as any to break the ice and learn more about another generation of trucks.

In addition to the Super Duty, I currently have a 79 Bronco, 79 F-150 and a 70 Bronco so you can probably tell I'm a Ford guy at heart, although I did have a Cummins for a couple years.

I've been active on other Bronco and 73-79 sites over the past 15 years, so will be dropping in on those sections of this board as well. And will probably run into some familiar names along the way.

Hi all I' new here, I haven't been a real ford lover (sorry) but I did own a 1965 mustang and since only recently owned a couple of ford focuses and one ecape which all of I really liked. Now I have a vintage 1994 Ford F150 from a personal longtime friend who has been the original owner since new and, basically sold it to me. He was facetious with this this truck until the steering box developed a leak and it sat although he got a lot of parts intened to be put on the truck it sat for almost 6 years in his driveway. He had a heart attack and I guess never really became interested in being outside and fixing things much again. I got interested in it when he informed me he needed the space in his driveway and wanted it moved so i arranged to have it floated to where i lived 3 hours away. This truck had been undercoated every year up until it was parked. I got it running the same night it arrived. It has the dual touring fuel tanks, a single cab with an 8' box and matching cap. Its a 2wd with a E40D transmission and a 5.0 motor.
I had to install the used steering box he supplied me and did all the required work to safety and emission test the vehicle and get it back on the road. All in all I've replaced front and rear brakes, machined the front rotors, replaced on rear drum with a good used one, both rear E brake cables, repaired the intermediate connector for the E brake cable, replaced the windshield, one front coil spring, all ball joints, one rear leaf of the rear spring, a battery, a throttle position sensor, hood release cable, and some used tires for now and patched a few small holes in drivers floor. Otherwise the truck is in phenomenal shape for its age and mileage 206K when I got it.
It's not pristine or mint by any means but way better shape compared to my 2 year older Dodge dakota which I've also owned since new but failed to undercoat and now looks like crap comparably speaking.
I'm enjoying the ride and handling of it so far. It's relatively easy to work on with a few exceptions. I have some areas to have the bosy shop repair on the box as well as the cab the biggest one is the driveers upper corner of the cab near the windshield which has some cancer starting at the corner.
I'll be looking for some help with some issues I have with it for sure and am now somewhat of a converted ford lover?

Sounds fun. I used to own a 77 150 with the 351 Winsor. What a power house that was.

Kinda new to the forum

Hi all

I joined the forum a few weeks ago. I going to purchase a 2017 SD. I currently own a 2004 F250 XLT W/6.0 diesel and I pull a 2006 NuWa Hitchiker II with it. This forum has already been a big help on tracking my new truck during the ordering process. I'm being patienced with the process right now because don't want to take delivery until 11/14 and looks like at the rate it's going it will be late November early December. Anyway looking forward to many years on this forum for a whole bunch of knowledge.
