Hello. Been lurking the forums for years and have always gotten good information from previous posts. Decided to join because I may be getting an old F150. Ex mechanic, service writer, sales and now happily in parts. The past experience will prove fruitful I'm sure in rehabbing an old Lariat.

Smile Newbie

Thanks for the info that I have been able to get prior to joining the group. I look forward to learning about my 1999 f-150 5.4 triton. I have started out by blowing a spark plug on my truck. I have owned it for a few months and it has 110,000 mi. The repair seems straight forward but it was nice to read some tips on here. Going to tackle it this afternoon and hope to report success. Well I hope this was a proper introduction... Have a great day everybody.

Gnu or New?

Afternoon all! (depending on your individual time zone)

Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you're just turning one (take that for whatever it's worth).

A new face to this website, a very old face to . (wait, that didn't sound right!)

Got a problem, but I'll head on over to the correct forum and post my issues in the right place.

1954 Green F100

Greetings everyone...

Glad to be a part of this wonderful and friendly family group of people.

I am helping my older brother, who lives in another country, with restoring a 1954 f100. The truck is an old find, and the glove door happen to be missing. We were able to find the VIN number on the chassis, but that is all we have right now. We did a search and there is no stolen or missing record for the vehicle.

I need to get a new VIN tag made up from the DMV. However, I cannot figure out the exact original color code for the truck. Every site I've visited on the internet gives me different color code, from R to H, to G...

Can anyone help me figure out with how to find the exact code chart for a dark green so that I can have added to the VIN tag? I have a photo of it I can send.

Thank you in advance

I've looked on this site for info in the past, never registered until now. Lots of good info here. I'm interested in the Market place for 67-72 parts buying and selling. Thanks!

Looking for advice

Hi, I too have been lurking here for a long time. I received some great information while I drove my last two ford trucks. I'm looking for some input. I have the opportunity to pick up a 2005 F350 Lariat (5.4 gasser) for $8K. It only has 34K miles on it. The down side is, it is located in upstate NY and has been used as a snow plow vehicle since it was new. It wasn't abused, but because it carried a salt bin, the bed is rusted through on the wheel wells and in the corners. It really needs to be replaced. The frame is in great shape, as is the cab, doors, front wheel wells, etc. I'm wondering about the cost of replacing the bed, and given that issue, if y'all think the price on the truck is in the right ball park.

Thank you!
