My wife and I have been thinking lately about getting a bigger truck. There are seven of us all together and when we all go camping together we both end up having to drive. So my question is does anyone out there have any experience with an extended extended cab......you know what I mean the stretched cabs, I was thinking a crew with an extended not the full 6 door version. You can see what we have now in my sig....but I would like to find an 05 f350 if we do this. I think it would still be cheaper than a new truck and I really don't have any wants for a brand new one anyhow.
You could go with a bumper pull trailer and excursion maybe? I have seen a F-550 around here that has a full six doors and a long bed that a logging company used and that thing was a hoss.
an excursion with the split bench seat in front would fit you all in there. I'm thinking a conversion truck would be VERY expensive unless you did it mostly yourself Kevin....it would be cool though!
we have a fiver so the X won't work..........a v-10 yah right why do you think I'm on the diesel forum LOL. The conversion is about 20K...I know it's a lot of coin in these days when everyone is wondering if they even will have a job tomorrow, but it will be a long term investment. Been looking around a little bit and can find some nice 6oh's for around 24k. Yah I know......I love my 7.3 and won't get rid of it but looking for something a little newer.
Dual pivet point = at least a class B license here in Ca. Also here in Ca. if you have a fifth wheel trailer it is legal to have people in the trailer while towing... this setup would make that illegal.

I did a little reading... its just a single pivot point. The actual thing has to "struts" that tie it to the truck so the assembly does not pivot in the hitch. Only pivot point is between the 5thwheel and the unit
Thanks for the link Justin that looks very interseting, never seen anything like that before. I guess I'm too use to driving a truck (20 plus years) I was looking for the cool factor of an extended crew or whatever they are called too. I was looking at one on The Stretch Truck Company and it was very sharp. Sorry should have been here.......
