So Lately my edge has throwing my truck into safe mode after working good for two years. I called edge the sent me a new one and it still doesn't work.
I call them back and they tell me that their product wasn't made to work with a cold air intake. The said that they would retune it for $50 per level.
All I have to say is WTF????
p.s. the cold air intake has been on my truck for 3 years.
As long as your CAI preserved the OE tube cross section at the MAF sensor, the standard Edge tuning should be fine.
If you have that bigger JLT intake or something like it with a bigger tube size, then of course you need a custom tune to get the A/F ratios back where they belong. I'd think your engine would have cratered by now if you had been running it that lean for three years though.
I would wonder if your CAI hasn't developed a leak somewhere after the MAF. Reinstall the OE intake if you still have it to see if that clears up the problem or not.
I have a k and n on there right now. Like I said it worked for 2 years and now that i have the latest flash from ford it doesn't work. I called sct tonight and they sent me and update for the x3 and it works just fine.
The edge was nice but since i put the sct on it it woke it up even more. I have the 5.4. The gauges on the edge are nice, but I appreciate performance a whole lot more.
