It's been cool at night. 25*to 30*. I've noticed that when that happens the display on the Edge does not work. It lights up but nothing is there. Also, if I turn the truck off when the screen is doing this, the edge stays powered up. My battery went dead the other day because of it. Has anyone noticed this or is it just coinsidence with the temperature thing? I haven't called Edge about it yet.
It's not unusual for liquid crystal displays to react slowly or not at all in cold weather. Usually its just a matter of letting them warm up. As for your other issue you should give their tech line a call.
mine does it also... not every morning, but most when the weather is down to about the same temps you are seeing. sometimes if i shut the truck off, and then unplug the cable from the OBD port, it will work right when i restart the truck.
25 below this morning (celcius) and no problems. I would believe the battery theory if it was just a blank display issue, but if it is not powering down I think I would be in contact with the techline to ask about it.

X2... I've had mine for 3 years and it did that yesterday morning... first time ever......
im wondering about the battery comment posted earlier..... my battery seems to die very fast if im working on the truck listening to the radio.... in less than a couple hours. and it has done it a few times on me..... so im wondering if i just need to get a new battery. is that usually a warranty item? i dont really feel like paying for one these days.
Since I drive the truck on the weekends, and sometimes when I go to crank it ( I have a yellowtop Optima battery), it is hard to turn over. When it does turn over, everything works fine except for the edge. The screen is blank. I have to unplug it and plug it back in. Im guessing this is draining my batty. Why is this? Also, can I unplug it while not in use and will the truck still maintain all the custom data (tire size, gear ratio, idle, etc)? Because everytime this occurs, I usually go into config and change everything, which leads to turning off the vehicle and turning it back on. I know im complaining a bit, but if it saves onto the truck, I could avoid doing all this!
If your battery is weak your edge will not shut off at least it did on mine this is just my experience but I could and have been wrong before.
Speaking of cold weather I am going to switch to level 3 has anyone had any problems in really cold weather with this tune. I am just worried about it leaning out to much any help would be great.
i had my edge for about a year or so...in real cold weather, it usually gave me problems with the screen. i got used to unpluggin' the cable w/ no problems. it was inconvienent but worth it. once the vehicle warmed up it was fine.
My screen was blank also, I dont think that my battery is weak it is just 1 year old. The digital display is just blank, not dim like if it were cold. I just reset the ampg and it came on, seems like an update is needed for cold weather. It was about 20 F here.
