well the way mine worked , go sit in the truck, and hold bothoption and trunk botton or both lower ones for 3 sec, while you sit it should light up the dash, once the WTS or glowplug light goes out it should start, if not you might have wire going to that thing wired wrong....
just somthing to check... check the line for diesel on your alarm it should go from hi to low and that should trigger the starter.....

You don't need the T harness if you want to splice into the stock harness. Gold is for the alarm/keyless entry/remote start and silver is for keyless entry/remote start. You need the tach inverter so the alarm knows it running and won't try to start it again.

I finished the install but I don't know if I got a bum unit or what, I can't get it to go into program mode, see post #15 above. I'm going to try taking the hood switch out of the loop tonight...

Hood switch elimination didn't do anything.... I located a 2009 install manual and in it were the trouble shooting honks guide .... mine honks 4 times which means the tach inverter needs programing, (which is what I suspected) but I still can't get into the programing mode, tomarrow I'm going to re-do the splice on the "door open" wire and check and make sure the reset switch is actually switching.

Just as easy another time..... BTW the upper part of the dash(instrument cluster) just pulls off, the screws are on the lower part. Also there is a grey connector on the left side of the radio opening that the the trailer brake uses and most trucks with out the trailer barke have the other end of the connector in the glove box....point being it's a great place to get +12v and switched +12v and a ground.

Good news I figured out what was wrong with the cured thing the "door ajar" wire didn't have a good connection...... so it will enter programming mode now woohoo.... issue the tach signal isn't reconized by the box.... the instructions said to hook it up to a grn/yel wire that was blunted and taped to the wire bundle behind the fuse box I found it but don't know if it's the right one. I think it's the same wire as the hi-idle mod uses.... so I'm going to look up that thread and see if it's the same one....if it is I'll do the hi-idle mod and if that works .... I have a bad tach inverter.

It works!!! The instructions that I dwnlded pretty much suck! Between the 2002 version and the 2007 versions I figured out how to tell the brain box that it needed a tach signal (diesel). Very confusing on how the over-ride button and the panic button are used here are the steps I used......

#1 Open the door (you must have the door ajar wire hooked up)
#2 Press and hold the brake pedal throughout the program sequence if it comes off start over //
#3 Push over-ride button once = 4 honks push it again 5 honks etc...keep pushing the over-ride button to get 8 honks //
#4 push the panic button (on the key fob) until you get 5 honks (that part is not in any of the charts but is in the written instr for the '02 version) if the LED isn’t lit press the lock button to get it to light (also not in the instr) Note: If it doesn’t work the 2nd time try turning the LED off //
#5 Start the truck, you should hear the horn honk every 3 -5 sec if it doesn’t stop the truck and start completely over…. Remove key, release brake, start at step 1.

I plan on doing a complete write up on my install with pictures and trouble spots etc.. I’ll post when done.
