Not to hijack too much, but can Jody add his tunes on another programmer? I have the Edge Evolution 2 and was wondering if his programs can be written over the top of the edge programming? I love the ability to monitor everything with the Edge, but I understand that Jody's tunes are sooooo much better!

Thanks!

He used to, but Edge got nervous about emissions and stopped it. That's really too bad, because the Edge is a really nice product -- put Jody's tunes on it and we're talking an AWESOME product!!

I am going to step out on a limb here. It is my opinion that tunes from whoever will work fine with whatever VB shift kit you get as it calls for line pressure and shift points based on parameters. So no tune/chip means factory and the kits tighten that up. Tune/chip with a shift kit sees the pressure and lets it happen. Just my guess from what I think I have seen.

Now, having said all of that. I had Jody set my OD shift where I wanted it for where I drive as well as the lockup, and downshift. This cannot be done with a VB or shift kit. This is tuning. I have a Transgo Kit and it was great, but it does EXACTLY what I want it to right now. That only comes with live tuning.

Before you ask, the tranny holds the gear and decelerates using the engine like it should have from the factory. This is not just in OD. There are a few folks that got to check this out in my truck at Smokin. I am still thrilled about the way it performs. Well, at least until the diode pukes.

I noticed that the stock tune seemed to feel better after the TransGo when I had my DP. But after getting the tunes to match, it was like night & day. Not sure how that fits in with your scenario Mike, but that's what I observed.

Shift points, lockup, unlock and downshift Joe. That made all the diff for me.

Yeah, I think so. I know it shifted a lot later in the old tunes...

Sorry for the bad info on this one guys, I stand corrected! I emailed Jody last week and heard back this morning from him about this one. I was originally told from Dennis@ITP my DP didn't require any additional tuning for the JWVB, but Jody says otherwise. The line pressures are different in the tuning, and specifically......the pressures are even a bit higher for the BTS tuning over the JWVB. Sorry for the bad info like I stated before!

Thanks Travis for the info on the JW and BTS,no problem here. I new when i bought the DP i should have gotten the VB first but had the money for the DP. Sending the chip back at a later date after the install of the vb isn't a big deal.
