Just rebuilt motor from the head up. It started right up, let it come to operating tempurature and shut it off. Next day, started up and went on a test drive. All the gauges and engine sounds look good for 5 miles and then decided to turn around and go home. I removed my foot off the accelerator and applied brakes and the engine immediately sputtered and stalled. It cranked right back up and I went back towards home and then tried slowing down slower this time...about a mile back and it didn't work...it stalled again. The second time it stalled, check engine light came on and remainded on this time. I'm sure it some sensor, but which one???
The booster is the device that gives you the powe brake assist. It need a lot of vacuum. The brake master cylinder id bolted to it on the drivers side firewall. There is a large diameter pipe connecting it to the engine manifold. Quite often when the booster is faulty you will hear a hiss from under the dash when you apply the brake. One test you can do is to remove the pipe at the booster and plug it with a bolt or similar (you will now have no power assist for the brakes), start the engine and press the brake pedal. If the engine now does not stall but does with the pipe connected then the booster is faulty. Hope this helps.
