I posted back in august about stalling & would restart at its own accord. I have ruled out cps.checked grounds in engine compartment&fuel heater.
What happens is the truck starts and run great,until it stalls or sometimes just bucks.When it dies completely some times it starts right back up . Yesterday it seemed I had to wait 5 min. or so each time it happened. (happened 10x yest.every 5 miles or so)
.So I took notes and grabbed codes each time it happenned . After it dies and during the period when it wont start the super chip programmer come back NO RESPonce when a diagnostic is requested.IN addition the WTS light comes on and goes right back out & the service engine soon light is on and stays on when the key it turned to the on position . As soon as the programmer can connect and read the codes the truck will start. The ser. eng. soon light cycles as it should and so does the WTS light.
One time when it would start again I had no throttle response and the OD light was flashing until I turned it off and restarted it . I tried to pull the codes and the programmer displayed "TO MANY" In addition it seemed to stall yesterday some times when i applied the brake??? For awhile it was throwing P0603 but have not seen that one lately . P0470 comes up all the time and P0478. Yesterday P0500 came up and have not seen that one before.Last time it started I got home 20miles but near home the tranny started to buck and was not unlockn the torc when brake was applied & OD was flashing But all
reset when turn off and restart??HELP PLEASE !!!!!Can a bad pcm be the culprit?????

 

MY bad the truck is a 2000 F 250 w/ 7.3 4x4.Another quick thought I did return the truck to stock and did not seem to help but the ser. eng soon. light went out as where it was on all the time when chipped. Also put in new relay.

 

Ill throw my 2 cents in but have you checked your ICP. My truck had similar symptoms at times it would buck sputter etc then smooth out and twice it died once in an intersection. I looked on the forums and tested the ICP by unplugging before starting which puts the truck in a default mode (good enough to get home or short short trip) and it ran no problems then plugged it back in and she sputtered and died. Replaced the ICP and she was good to go.
