There are always other ways to handle things and many of those ways aren't always going to make the concenses happy. You have to do what you can do and hope for the best.
You know there is always the possibilty of having our own forum GTG. However, Smokin is and will always be sponsored by TDG/DP as long as we own DP and Wayne owns TDG. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Our very first Smokin there were 10 of us that showed up for just some truck talk. Look at it now.

You guys know how we feel about everyone in this forum. When I read people were actually making reservations for an event that hasn't even been scheduled yet. To a place where it was assumed it would be again, I felt I needed to jump in and quickly tell you what I knew so far about the events whereabouts. I thought I was doing good by posting it now before too many people made family vacations to G-burg in hopes to attend Smokin. Only to find out it was being held elsewhere.
I will be carry on with posting, but I will not comment anymore on Smokin. All are welcome to attend from any and all forums. That the way it has always been and that will never change.

I do feel partially responsible for this. Rick, JD and I have been openly planning on going for quite some time even to the point where Rick and I have discussed the menu for feeding all of us with food from his neck of the woods one night and the food from my neck of the woods on another. I jumped the gun big time on this one.

Whats the chances of us still having a GTG ? Look at it this way, only Fords running around instead of Dodges and Chevys.... Since everyone was planning around bout the same time as last year. We could always still do it......Any thoughts?

We all appreciate you letting us know before anyone got any further in the planning stages.
Perhaps the FTE forum should plan its own event in the same location that Smokin' was expected. Edit: Scott beat me to it. Was mentioned by a few fellows earlier, Justin and Big Steve.

well like i said earlier im up for it me and a buddy were already plannin on goin to smokin (he's got a cummins) but i told him the situation and he said "if fordtrucks organizes it i better just ride with you ha ha.. seriously obvously most of us were planning on april and in gatlinburg so i think it would be a great thing for us all to get together

No there is going to be a Smokin '09, but at an Adventure Bound campground in PA. Eagles Peak. This is where Wayne lives now.

Im up for it. Would have to find a place to have it at. It would have to be somewhere where we wouldn't get the police called on us for being to rowdy and nobody to tell us that our fire is too BIG!!!

I think I'll pop in at Mike's (Tenn01PSD350) house and have him force me to drink his Miller Lite......
We do that 3-4 time a year in Oklahoma/North Texas Chris, just plan it out and folks show up and have a good time......it'll work.......
