turbo wonders?

i have a 97 psd and i was wondering if the 99-03 turbo will be a direct fit on my truck? if so would an intercooler be recomended? cause if it fits im going aftermarket turbo not a stock 99-03 turbo.

Thanks,
Joe

It will fit but you also need the 99-03 up-pipes, maybe manifolds, turbo, pedestal, downpipe, and intake y-pipe (IC'ed or not). Not worth the effort if you were to just put the stock turbo in there. If you put the Garrett BB turbo then your good. I would shy away from the Turbonetics drop in as they are hit and miss as to being a good turbo.

Depending on your plans you might want to look into Beans Dominator 66 turbo. Its a modified stock turbo good for up to stage 2 injectors.

i think you have to change the fuel seperator as well, the old body style sits farther back.

Interesting. I thought the turbnetics was a good as the Garrett BB is not better.

Not anymore. They don't even sell the Turbonetics BB new anymore. Not sure about the journal bearing unit but the BB unit got so bad they took it off the market.

I see. I always thought the bb was a little overpriced myself.

Not a bad price but consider the $900 kit and the $1400 turbo and you have paid for a H2E turbo and kit. The only reason to do the swap would be to put a BB turbo on so if your gonna spend the money you might as well get the H2E. NOW the only reason I could see going to the BB turbo is if compounds are in your future and the garrett bb makes a great secondary turbo.
