Great news on two counts, he is going to prison for a long time and California wont even have to pay for it.

If I knew where some stuff that was stolen from me was,I would be tempted to go and at gun point get it back. Is this what OJ did? They shouldnt treat him any differant than anyone else. He messed up in his way of trying to get his stuff back I guess.

OJ gave things to people to avoid having them seized and sold to pay the Goldman family. One of those people sold some of the stuff to the people who were in Vegas. That was the stuff that OJ and company took at gun point. BTW; Shipboy, your new avatar looks OK.

Regardless of the outcome of the original trial, I think the conviction in this current one is just desserts for 13 years of OJ saying "I will not rest until I find the REAL killer!"...yet, I've seen nothing of him making an effort to do so. Instead, he's played golf, taken interviews, tried to sell books, and generally been a conniving scumbag.

He's already on the appellate track, so I'm sure there will be some sort of motion for an injunction to keep him out of prison until his sentencing. I think if the judge is smart, he'll deny it, otherwise we'll see a slowly cruising white Leer jet heading toward some non-extradition country.

If by some miracle, he actually does have to go to prison, I'm thinking he'll get the aforementioned 10 years or so, as that's generally ballpark for the crimes that he committed. The high end of the sentencing range is always stated in the news, but it is almost never given without some sort of exigent circumstances. I've seen 1st degree manslaughter only get 7 years before, and 2 counts of forcible rape get 6 years, so he could get as little as 5 for each count to be served concurrently (barring any higher mandatory limits in the sentencing guidelines), and be out in 3. Add on the potential for work release programs, or whatever other little scheme his lawyers can cook up, and he could be out sooner.

Now, if he does actually get some time, I can guarantee he'll be put into seg (segregation) right away. His lawyer will claim his celebrity status will create an environment of risk to his client, as other inmates will want to test the waters with the old football pro. So, he'll most likely lead a fairly lonely, anticeptic existence while in prison, and most likely write another friggin travesty of a book while in there. As for all the hopes I've read here about payback by other inmates, and whatnot, I can pretty much guarantee that will be a minimal likelihood, as the Nevada Department of Corrections will not want the death of a celebrity being smeared across the media on their behalf. So, to protect their butts they'll most likely put him in segregation before OJ's attorneys even get the opportunity to ask for it in the first place.

Face it folks, our system is broken, and needs a major league overhaul. Granted, it's still the best game in town, but we can do better than this. OJ is old news, and the more we pay attention to turds like this, the more power we lend them. Let him rot in whatever capacity his life ends up, and be done with him. Personally, I'd like to see him stuffed into a Samsonite bag, and jumped on by the gorilla that took his commercial spot...but it's not going to happen.
