I once cut a hole through the trunk of an old Pontiac to get to the fuel pump, it was much easier than to take the old rusty tank out.. Sometimes weird idea just brings up another point of view.
I just used some RTV and reglued the thing, mind you it was hidden.
That's how you replace the fuel pump in a 6th Gen Maxima.
