General question about oil

I have a gallon and a half of unused Castrol oil I had left over from 2yrs ago when I had my old diesel truck. Is that oil still any good or does it start to break down by sitting in the container.

give it a quick glance to see if any moisture has collected in it. other than that i see no issues with using it.

Are you talking about, there may be some condensation on the cap once I take it off the jug to look at the inside of the cap for moisture (condensation) or any type of water droplets floating at the bottom of the gallong jug.
The oil is in it's original container one was opened, but the other never opened as of yet.
Just seeing if I have the right idea where to look for moisture.

Thanks cOOnhunterjoe would not have thought of moisture but would have looked at the oil at least it's 15W40 Castrol with Teflon for diesel engines that I used before on my other 94.5 F350 before selling it 2 yrs ago.

the sealed jug would be perfectly safe to use, and the other parital is most likely fine as well, should be obvious if moisture is in it.

is the oil in a green container? if its this stuff i didnt like it when i ran it in my truck, but thats just personal opinion.

That would be it except it's in a white jug which doesn't really matter lol
I started using castrol in the gassers after trying penzoil years ago. Castrol oil isn't bad for the diesel truck though right. I know there's better oil out there but it can't be the worst either.
The majority in here seem to use Rotella or Royal Purple that I've read.
Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
