Quick IPR question please

I have the IPR out and am trying to service it, In the directions @ New Page 0 Under the "servicing" section it shows on the end of the IPR is open and to use a small screwdriver and push on the end of the pilot valve assembly, well mine has a plug in the end so I cannot do this. Is this plug supposed to be here? and how can I remove it with out damaging anything? and (maybe dumb question) does it have to be in there when done. Theres no mention or picture of this plug in the write up so I didn't know.

Don't remove it! There are two different styles of IPR. The articles is the later and you have the earlier style. Just clean it as best you can

I don't know. I have only taken one IPR apart and its my back up so I haven't installed it yet to see if it still works
