Ok I have a 06 F150 ext cab 4x4 it has the 5.4 and3.55 axles.. I have noticed when I get up around 70 and 73 miles an hour, I have a shake in the truck, the dealer installed 4 new tires afew months ago, so i thought that was a problem(unbalanced) they rebalanced them and I still have a shake. If I put my hand on the top of the steering wheel it shimmys a little from left to right quite annoying thats for sure, has anyone experienced this? Where in the heck can I start to look for a problem that would cause this? Hope someone can help me out. Thanks.

Is the whole truck shaking or is it just felt in the wheel?
Does it do it on every road surface (cement and asphalt)?
If it's just in the wheel I would say that it's 99% tire balance issue.
If it's the whole truck I would look at re-balancing the drive shaft.
From your description it sounds like it's just in the wheel, if that is the case skip the Ford shop on go to a good tire place like discount tires. I have used them many times and they are great, in and out in under 15 mins most of the time. Also if you buy from them you get free lifetime balance and tire rotations!
hi,I had a same problem 2 years ago with my 04 fx4 screw.and local tire shop did a road forced balance on the tires and one of the tire was way off.they balanced and they did puy that tire in rear.
good luck
What brand tires did they install? Pirelli Scorpions seem to be a vibration prone tire. They will develope flat spots if the vehicle sets for a long period of time.

I had to have mine road force balanced to get rid of a vibration as well. Dealer tried standard balance 2 times before sending it out. All good now
when my '06 was new it had the same problem dealer ROAD FORCED the tires and replaced all 4, now all is well. PS just how big are those Michigan whitetails?

No It is not just in the steering wheel, If I set something on the dash in that tray holder there, it shakes a little bit also, I have not taken it back to the dealership yet becasue i am not sure what to tell them, lol. I mean they will end up saying they cannot balance the tiures no more, iI am afraid of having problems with them.
