Try using this tool-

Gear Ratio Calculator

Put stock values in the first column and enter your setup in the second column. Use a value of 1.00 for the "Step 2. High Range" value.

Check RPMs vs speed. If you are loking to match stock, then 4.33:1 is close.

I have 4.30's on mine. With 37's I think 4.10's won't be enough. 4.56's will probably be a bit much, especially if you drive on the highway.

just depends on how much towing you do also.....if I towed a bit more I would probably ditch my 3:73's for some 4:10's....I have 35"s. I only tow maybe every 6 weeks or so, so I'm cool with my current gearing.

4.10's to me would be pointless. Too close to what you currently have. I think I would have to go 4.30 minumum or 4.56 ( better choice for 37's) myself.

I agree.....go with 4:30's.....sorry, my post was sort of mis-leading, I was speaking for myself, I have 35" tires....but you have 37's. 4:30's will be very driveable....you'll gain some low-end back, and towing won't be lugging the motor down quite as bad

Do you want speed or quickness? A 7500# truck on 37s just ain't made for raw speed. Better to be quick out of the hole. Going to need shorter gears for that.

If you want speed, best to sell it, and buy a BMW. I was torn between my current truck and a M5 for my first car, but im glad i bought the truck. I'd be dead if i had the beamer, lol.

I run 4.56s and 38s.....ran 40s as well.
For 37s I'd do 4.30s.

Here's a chart that I made a while back:

Here's a quick example of rpms with given gear ratios at 70 mph. All rpms listed are for a AOD trans with a .70 OD ratio....so they aren't dead on, but they are close (the 4R100 has a .71 or .72 OD ratio I think??). So, while the rpms aren't 100% on the money it will give you an idea of how each different gear ratio effects engine rpm at 70mph.

tire..............gear...................rpm
31.6"...........3.73....................1943 (stock truck)
31.6............4.10....................2136
31.6............4.30....................2240
34.7............3.73....................1770
34.7............4.10....................1945
34.7............4.30....................2040
34.7............4.56....................2164
36.7............3.73....................1673
36.7............4.10....................1839
36.7............4.30....................1929
36.7............4.56....................2046
36.7............4.88....................2189
38...............3.73....................1616
38...............4.30....................1863
38...............4.56....................1976
38...............4.88....................2114
38...............5.13....................2223
40...............4.10....................1688
40...............4.30....................1770
40...............4.56....................1877
40...............4.88....................2009
40...............5.13....................2112
42...............4.56....................1788
42...............4.88....................1913

44...............5.13....................1920

Yeah, i put 4.56's in mine with intentions to put 37's on in the future. I run 35's now and they are way too low for the highway, but i do most of my driving around country roads and such where i dont want the engine to be lugging down, especially with lots of fuel and a laggy turbo.
