hey guys , im from the 7.3 forum
im looking to get 2005 f350 dually cc .can you guys tell me what to look for in those truck, like places to look for leaks, what to check before getting a time bomb. any advice would be greatly appriciated
and whats the best price to pay for MINT 2005 F350 black, sunroof, DVD Lariat package....it has bout 40k on odo....

Peter, make sure you get the OASIS info by posting the VIN in the sticky thread at the top of this forum. Let us know what it says and we'll help you with diagnosis.

yeah , mine 7.3 has a lot in it. kid is too young to drive it only 15 going on 16.
looking for somthing bigger,and might sell parts from my 7.3 like term pumps, BTS trans, inj, turbo system.
anyways back on topic.

yes its 4x4 im in NY it gets slippery here LOL so i feel better with all wheels pulling.
BTW whats the diference between 05 and 06 trucks?

i had oasis run by the dealer and they just give me last service record 11/16/2007
replaced :

gasket valve rocker
cooler-egr
gasket-water outlet
clamp-muffler
gasket cyl head
gasket carb fuel inl
cooler egr
element asy oil filt

tech comments:
head gasket perform tsb found head gaskets to be cause of coolant leak replace left and right head gasket, change oil cooler oil filter and fill with fluids, re check system ok....


is thet good bad WTF?
dont know anything bout 6.0, can you guys give me a scope on this?

IMO that whole long list of repairs sounds common for a 6.0 but the only thing that I don't really like is that it all happend in 40k miles so that means it semi-fequently spends time in the shop.

I have a 2004 F350 XLT Lariat with 90K on it. Bought it to start a hauling company after retiring from the Army. Got a job with the local PD instead. It has a Superchip programmer and a Gibson exhaust and an AirRaid Filter. Got some water in the fuel issues right now but I would rather sell it for what I owe on it since i am not using it to pull. Let me know if you are interested and I will post photos and more info for ya.

For what it's worth, i have a 2004 6.0L. I haven't looked at my Oasis so i can't speak to my own truck, but I did have turbo and steering issues and 3 or 4 recalls since i bought the truck on 5/17/04.

While the list looks long and cryptic . . . on the plus side this guy is taking it in and getting it fixed. AND, if there's something going on (bucking while towing), he's taking it in rather than waiting for it to get worse or causing further damage. Looks like the bucking issue was unfounded and not-recurring (no other entry).

So, if ye were me, I'd get it looked over long and hard by a trusted mechanic and if you buy it, do the same as him. If the truck isn't acting normally, take it in.

If you were to look at my truck, you'd see a list, but the only thing that's happened to it in two years is new ball joints. Other than that, It's the most reliable vehicle in the stable. Had i not done that laundry list, don't think I'd be saying that.
