Got a '79 F-150. . .only had the driver's side windshield wiper arm installed when we bought it. . .
Got a new arm and blade and I put it on, but rotated just a bit the wrong direction when I put it on. . .so now it's sitting a little low on the windshield (like right where it ends) so I would like to reposition it, but now that's it's on it doesn't want to come off. . .
on the bottom on the outside or inside the arm. . .I didn't see anything under there. . .the manual said to push a 3/32" pin into the hole, but I don't see a hole anywhere???
use a screw or nut driver to pry on it enter half arsed illustration ARTWORK.jpg - Image - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting insert a driver of your choice and place a rag or 2 under the metal end of the driver and pop it up should come free in one or 2 good pops. with out damage (dont recommend using the glass for any part of the driver try to get as low on the arm as possible, worked for me
Its a lot easier to show you than explain so some of these answers might be confusing. Where the wiper arm sits on the splined piece at the cowl....lift up on the wiper arm and pull away from the windshield....if you look right where the splines are theres a little tab that is part of the wiper arm. This tab is spring loaded and locks in the grove under the splines. You can get a better look at it from the pasenger side wiper arm until you get the hang of it. You stick a flat screw driver on top of the little tab and push it down towards the cowl. This is where a cloth on the cowl would come in handy because the screw driver likes to slip off the tab. Once you move the tab its kind of a pain to wiggle the wiper arm off. I hope this makes sense.
edit: Ooops I musta been thinkin of something else. You should stick the screw driver under the tab and push up.
