Econoline radiator

Econoline radiator
Well, it looks as though my poor radiator has had it. I sent it out to the rdiator shop and they said that they cannot do anything with it as is but can do a recore on it. The recore is pretty expensive. Do I have any other options? Is anybody making them new? Does anybody have a good used one for sale?

The early Ford Falcon rads are the same rads. The only difference is the mounting brackets on the sides of the core. You need to take the ones from the van and have them soldered onto the Falcon car rad. The rads are the same size. ^4 and newer I'm not sure of, but the first Falcons had the same rad cores as the Econo vans and trucks,.

The Mustang's 2 row radiator used on V8's with A/C is the exact same one the 1963/65 Falcon V8's used = C3DZ8005K.
Specs for C3DZ8005K = 17 1/4" wide / 16 1/2" high / 1 1/4" core thickness.
Since the OP with the Econoline made no mention of the year or size of the engine, how can you speculate that a Mustang/Falcon radiator will work?
According to his profile, it's a 1966 , but is it a 170, or a 240 engine? Is it a Super Van, or not?
While the 170 radiator is close to the specs of C3DZ8005K, the 240 Econoline radiator is 3" taller, and the core is 1/2" thicker.
Trumped: Since you are local, in south Los Angeles, on Alameda Street north of Firestone Blvd., is a large long time truck dismantlers yard.
They have 100's of recored radiators for older vehicles. Give Marty a call @ SoCal Truck Wrecking: 323-587-3144.

I know you can buy a 3 row radiator for a 1965 Mustang V8 3 row for about $152.00. I know guys that are running them. Some radiator shops show only that year for 3 row to where as others have listed for 1965 on. Here is a link:

I just called Marty at SoCal Truck Wrecking (8229 S. Alameda St, LA). He said if you bring down the old one, he may be able to match it up.
This yard has 100's of radiators and to be honest, they don't really know what they've got. I've been going there since 1967, so I know more about their older parts inventory than they do.
I sent a fellow FTE member over there for a 1965 F Series truck grille. Marty told him..."we don't have it."
So I drove over there, and walked to its location, pointed it out and said..."what's this?"

The rad from your truck looks like a rad for a 300 or 240 engine. They are taller andlonger.. The wideth looks the same. I did mention the Flacon rads are a tad shorter, but the same width. Also your rad is for a 65 and newer. My truck has a 170 engine and is a 64. The falcon rad was only shorter by an inch and 1/2.
Try the fella Number says.
Is a recore that bad. Then you have a good rad for amny years and you will not need the worry about leaks and such.

I took measurements and came up with:
Core: 20.5" tall, 17" wide
Total wide incl brackets 19"
total 23" tall incl cap
Inlet and outlet both on passenger side
This appears to be taller than the mustang ones I'm looking at:
Core 16 ½” Tall x 17”
Total 21” Tall (21 ½” Incl Cap) x 19 5/8" (Incl Brackets) Wide
Inlet 1 ½” Outlet 1 ¾”
Hope this isn't a dead thread. Some guidance would be greatly appreciated.
