8ba radiator question

8ba radiator question
About to pull the trigger on an 8ba radiator to get my run stand setup for a test. The ones I see probably need work and maybe a recore. If I had to recore an 8rc is it possible to recore it as a 4 row, basically turn a standard into a heavy duty? Or would I need to find a 8rt?

Not sure what you mean by an 8RC, do you mean a car radiator? For a test stand (only) you don't need a lot of capacity, but if you would use it later in the truck, then you should buy a truck radiator. Trucks had either 3 or 4 rows from the factory, pretty uncommon IMO to see an F-1 with a 4-row, usually a Big Truck thing. But I have one, because of my location. It's a Walker core with stock tanks.

In the 50 parts book the 8rc is the standard and the 8rt is the heavy duty. I have the 7ht (4 row for the 6) in the truck now and it keeps me at about 175ish which is where I would like the 8ba to be or close. My goal is large bore with 4" stroke so I probably need more than standard. The one I am about to buy is an 8rc.

8BA is a Ford car radiator, A is the parts catalog symbol for cars. C & T are the symbols for trucks.
The problem is, Ford updated the part numbers when they printed new catalogs, why Ross' parts catalog pic doesn't show either 8RC or 8RT
I have the same pic, it's from the 1948/56 Ford truck catalog, final printing 1964.
