Has anyone found a fix to disable the speed governor? When I run hard and fast, the van will only go so fast, and no faster. Engine/vehicle bucks/jerks hard. Only at very high speeds (above 90). My '89 3.0l didn't do this, but my '93 3.0l does, and it's annoying.
after market chip or programmer.
don't know if any are around anymore for OBD-I EEC-IV 3L or 4L engines.
the PCM cuts out random injectors based upon max programmed speed limiter.
Jet used to make one for Aero. Ranger 3L for same year should work. may have to be a custom to get the max speed you want and regular 87 octane gas.
Diablosport's website is an exercise in frustration. Can you furnish a clue as to what I'm looking for?
Engine Tuner with which to change the RPM limiter. EEC IV is in the PCM so it needs to be compatible with that computer version. They are a bit outdated by now, but I believe the Mustangs of that era use the same engine computer..... set up differently of course. Know anyone who does track racing ? they will likely have one. Otherwise they are not cheap ! PMS Programable Engine Management System for 89-95 EEC-IV
i have never noticed the bucking from fuel cut off ( yes i have pegged my 93 3.0l, and the tach kept goin up up up! lol) but i have noticed crazy wind resistance
