C4 or C6

I have a 67 with 3 sp in floor ,390 engine. I would like to put an auto. trans. but not sure what to look for. any advice?

go c-6

If you are going to put a stock tranny in you might want to find a c-6. they are a stronger tranny. They eat up a few more horses but probably worth it in the long run.

If its an F100 2wd then a c4 would probably be your better option.

A heavier truck might require the c6

Fellers, I don't believe the C4 came with a FE round top bell.

Also, the C6 is a one-piece case (no separate bellhousing like FMX and C4).

C4 Bells for the FE are rare......

Aftermarket bells are made to do this swap.

The big block wont miss the extra horses required to get the c6 moving.

i am looking for stock, i mostly just make occasional trip to lowes or somewhere else for a load of lumber . I just get tired of changing gears. thanks for the advice.
